Influence of Axial Matching between Inducer and Impeller on Energy Loss in High-Speed Centrifugal Pump

Studying the axial matching between inducer and impeller is crucial for optimizing structure of centrifugal pumps. In this paper, SST k-ω turbulence model used to analyze influence three positions on internal flow energy loss a pump. Additionally, entropy generation method evaluate in Three sets design schemes are selected based ratio distance from trailing edge inlet diameter, which λ = 0.6, 0.9 (original scheme), 1.2, respectively. The results indicate that changing position 0.6 1.2 has only negligible effect overall performance At rates 0.6Qd 1.0Qd, pressure coefficient λ2 significantly lower compared λ1 λ3. As rate increases, difference outlet decreases, leads more uniform streamline distribution better development vortex channel. mainly occurs at rim, edge, near wall. rim decreases slightly remains around 1000 W·m−3·K−1. 1.0Qd 1.2Qd, reduces as with exception 0.6Qd.
